Practical Design Solutions for Print and Web

About Me

My name is Don Krolikowski. I trained at the former Cooper School of Art, Cleveland, Ohio, earning a Design Illustration Degree. I worked in the printing and allied trades while in school and continue to do so today. I managed the composition department at Nasa Lewis Research Center coordinating artwork, photography, and research materials used in producing technical publications worldwide. I've had the opportunity to organize an art department for a small business and then manage and grow that area of their business. I've generated new sales through existing customer contact and cold calls. Building on that foundation, I became self-employed in 1987, creating artwork for newspaper ads, packaging, signs and newsletters for many businesses and organizations. And in 1999, I began designing dynamic websites.

About workflow

I handle a client's design project by thoroughly discussing needs to gain an understanding of the project and its objectives. I create conceptual visuals for discussion and review. I fulfill the final product to the client as a tangible visual which previously existed only as an imagination.

Concepts that work on a computer or the printed page

Computer and printing technology are used to convey visual graphics. I understand how the visual will exist in both the electronic and print mediums. Visuals are not only created on a computer, but may require a computer to deliver it along with other content. Web pages may consist of a graphic combined with database information, creating a virtual page displaying personalized information in response to input by the user. I can do that. I understand lithography, pre-press, printing and website construction. Knowledge that gets desired results.

I consider myself lucky to have the talent and ability to create visual art. This work is my passion and I would enjoy putting my skills to work for you and your business!
